Helping Hands

Job Requirements

What do you need, to be able to help out?

01

Food Handlers License

To ensure that our baked goods meet proper health & safety standards for our consumers, we must have every employee following health code. This means that you must be trained in the WA State Food Handlers course. Also, we request that you practice principles learned in the course by washing hands often, wearing gloves when working with food, and not showing up if feeling ill.

02

Be 13 or Older

In order for our kitchen and workspace to be a place of enjoyment and productivity, volunteers must be a MINIMUM of 13 years old. At this age, volunteers are more likely to engage in the work and help us meet deadlines for the benefit of our customers.

03

Cooperative Skills

To keep a smooth running workspace, we ask that our volunteers have cooperative skills--as they will need to work together with the executive team & other volunteers to complete tasks. A volunteer must be able to respectfully voice their opinion, listen to others, ask for help when needed, and cooperate with others.

04

Work Ethic

While this is not a payed job, it's important for our volunteers to be passionate about learning how to do our tasks correctly--so that the best possible product can be provided to the consumer. By trying to learn technique, keeping a growth mindset, and focusing on doing their best, a volunteer can assist in the production of quality baked goods.
